This Saturday, the Portuguese Navy was coordinating medical care for a 65-year-old man who experienced severe abdominal pain on board a boat about 110 kilometers from Lisbon.
“A vessel flying the flag of the United States of America called for help at 00:27 a.m., reporting that a crew member had severe abdominal pain, vomiting and a medical history,” the Navy said in a statement.
The ship headed for Cascais, where they managed to rescue an elderly man, a US citizen. A ship was sent from the Salva Vidas station, which landed the man in the port of Cascais Marina.
The man was later taken to the hospital.
