“Park da Bela Vista in Lisbon will host the second edition of MEO Kalorama from August 31st to September 2nd with a luxurious line-up now joined by Blur with a new show on the first day of the festival, August 31st. when the final day of their European tour takes place,” the organization said in a released statement.

Blur consists of vocalist Damon Albarn, guitarist Graham Coxon, bassist Alex James and drummer Dave Rowntree. They appeared in Colchester in 1989 and became one of the major ‘Britpop’ titles of the next decade with themes such as ‘Girls and Boys’, ‘Parklife’, ‘Song 2’ and ‘End of the Century’.
The band’s latest album “The Magic Whip” was released in 2015, more than ten years after the release of the previous “Think Tank”.
The band’s discography also includes “Modern life is bubbish” (1993), “Parklife” (1994) and the already titled “Think Tank” (2003), after which they disbanded, with each musician taking different paths, in and out of music.
Years later, they got back together for occasional concerts, including a show in 2009 in Hyde Park, London celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary and later released on DVD.
MEO Kalorama took place for the first time last year on September 1, 2 and 3 at Parque da Bela Vista and was headlined by Arctic Monkeys, The Chemical Brothers and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. According to the organization, about 112 thousand people passed through the territory of the festival in three days, more than 30% of them were foreigners.
The festival, organized by the Spanish promoter Last Tour, includes music, sustainability and art as the “three main axes”.
This year’s playlist includes, in addition to the bands playing on the first day, Florence + The Machine, Arcade Fire, Aphex Twin, Foals, The Hives, Siouxsie, Pablo Vittar, Arca, Dino D’Santiago, Belle & Sebastian. , Capitão Fausto, Young Fathers and Baxter Dury.
Tickets for the festival are already on sale and cost 160 euros (3-day ticket) and 65 euros (day ticket).
