Russian tennis player Anastasia Potapova scored a strong victory over Britain’s Harriet Dart on June 23 in the quarterfinals of the WTA-250 grass tournament in Birmingham.
World number 21 Potapov broke Dart’s resistance (134th WTA ranking) in 2 hours and 6 minutes: 4:6, 6:3, 6:4.
During the match, Potapova completed an ace, erred eight times on second serve, and won five games on the opponent’s serve (12 break points in total). Because of Dart: One direct shot, nine double faults and four break points implemented out of seven won.
For reaching the final of the tournament, Anastasia Potapova will compete with Elena Ostapenko from Latvia. Birmingham’s WTA-250 tournament takes place on grass courts from June 19-25. The prize fund of the contest exceeds €259,000.
