According to the CCDLVT Environmental Monitoring Evaluation Unit, the situation occurred between 14:00 and 15:00 this Saturday at Olivais Station.

Between 15:00 and 16:00 Beato Station recorded 213 micrograms of ozone per cubic meter, up 20 micrograms of ozone per cubic meter from the previous hour.

The municipalities of Barreiro and Seixal also exceeded the ozone limit in the atmosphere.

The municipality of Berreiro recorded at Escavadeira station 181 micrograms of ozone per cubic meter from 13:00 to 14:00 and 193 micrograms of ozone per cubic meter from 14:00 to 15:00.

According to data from the Paio Pires station, in the municipality of Seixal between 15:00 and 16:00, ozone levels reached 184 micrograms per cubic meter.

“Exposure to this pollutant significantly affects the mucous membranes of the eyes and respiratory tract, and its exposure can manifest itself with symptoms such as coughing, headaches, chest pains, shortness of breath and eye irritation,” he emphasizes.
