Reports of possible ticketing failures due to the transition to home software were denied by the Russian Railways company, RIA Novosti reported on December 1.
“The ACS Express ticket system is working stably, there are no interruptions in ticket sales”the company said.
It is specified that the Russian Railways has been working on the transition to domestic software in a planned manner since 2018. The transfer of the automated control system is carried out in stages, in accordance with the import substitution plan.
Earlier, Kommersant reported that the company estimates the cost of replacing imported information systems at 6.4 billion rubles. The note said that the company currently runs on the z/Architecture platform, which is tied to IBM hardware, which has ceased operations in Russia. This circumstance allowed the publication to assume that this could generate difficulties in the sale of tickets, interruptions in international transport and also a decrease in the mobility of citizens.
