The first sobering up station in the Stavropol Territory may open at the end of 2023, “AiF” reports on June 27 with reference to the head of the department of the Ministry of National Policy and Cossack Affairs of the region for working with people who are found in a drunken state, Vladimir Shevchenko.
The Cossacks proposed a bill for consideration, which implies the return of the practice of sobering stations. The document is to be considered in the regional Duma in July 2023.
Now they will search in advance for a room for the sober station equipment.
“Everything will happen only with the consent and request of a person. The goal of such organizations is not to cure, but to sober up. The doctors will examine the person, provide all necessary assistance, and then send them home.”Shevchenko said.
Remember that the practice of sobriety stations was common in the Soviet Union, but discouraged in post-Soviet Russia.
