The announcement of her return to tennis was made by former world number one, 32-year-old Danish tennis player Caroline Wozniacki, on June 29, writes Vogue.
The tennis player said that she will return to the big sport in the WTA 1000 tournament, which will take place from August 7 to 13 in Montreal, Canada. She then plans to play at the US Open (August 28 to September 10) and begin preparations for the Australian Open from mid-January 2024.
“I am nervous? Not too strong. I’m getting back to doing what I love. Yes, I’ll be nervous before the games and that doesn’t matter to me. Can I win the US Open or the Australian Open? If possible. That’s why I decided to come back. Let’s see what happens”– said the former first racket in the world.
Recall that Caroline Wozniacki announced the end of her career as a professional tennis player in January 2020 due to rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune disease of connective tissues.
