The CP train stopped shortly before arriving at Benfica station on the Sintra line and caused panic among passengers this Thursday morning.
There were records of several restrictions as the transport was overcrowded and no explanation was given to those on it at the event. Some people have shown symptoms of feeling unwell and restless after trying to force the doors.
People were blocked on the train for about 40 minutes.
for what morning Post managed to find out, the train was evacuated and two women needed medical attention. One of them even called for help.
Operational firefighters, INEM and PSP were at the scene.
TO cmCP confirms that “around 9 am, the train had a technical accident at the entrance to Benfica station.” On their own initiative, some passengers opened the doors of the train and about 15 people entered the station. As a precautionary measure, CP has suspended trains between “Santa Cruz Damaya and Benfica” on all routes from 09:09.
Circulation was restored at 09:22.
