Two men died and two were injured Friday morning when three trucks and a car collided on the N10 highway between Porto Alto and Santo Estevan in the municipality of Benavente. The road was closed to traffic in both directions for several hours.
The incident was reported around 4:45 am.
ABOUT cm the fatal victims are known to be between the ages of 34 and 40 who were driving heavy vehicles.
The injured, thought to be minors, were taken to the Vila Franca de Xira hospital.
There were 29 operators supported by 11 fire trucks from Zamora Correia and Benavente, a Medical Ambulance and Resuscitation Vehicle (VMER) from Vila Franca de Xira and GNR.
The Center for Criminal Investigation of Traffic Accidents in Santarém is investigating the causes of the accident.
N10 is open to traffic again.
