
A new wave of mobilization in Russia in connection with the cessation of the work of the Wagner PMC in the zone of the special military operation (SVO) will not be necessary, the head of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrei said on July 3. Kartapolov, TASS reports.
“A new wave of mobilization will not be required”– said Kartapolov.
The head of the committee added that Russian President Vladimir Putin had declared that there was no need for a new stage of mobilization. Instead, according to Kartapolov, a planned recruitment of servicemen for a contract is taking place. In addition, new formations and units, including reserve, are being created in a planned manner, and subdivisions are being trained.
“There is no need for mobilization today and in the near future”– concluded the head of the State Duma Committee.
Recall, on June 13, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that since January 2023, more than 150 thousand people have entered the service under contract in the RF Armed Forces.
It should be noted that on June 22, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said: “In fact, by the end of June we will complete the formation of a reserve army and there we will soon complete the formation of an army corps.”.
