The IAEA initiative to create a buffer zone around the ZNPP was supported by the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly (PA). This was announced on July 4 in the OSCE resolution.
As a result of the OSCE PA (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) meeting in Vancouver from June 30 to July 4, a document was issued in which Russia “urgently” support the IAEA initiative. In particular, the OSCE believes that the Russian military should leave the territory of the ZNPP and open unrestricted access to the reactors for IAEA inspectors.
At the end of May, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi proposed to the UN Security Council a project to guarantee the security of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, including the prevention of attacks on the plant or from its territory, the prohibition to place heavy weapons in the nuclear power plant, not endangering the power supply of the plant and protecting the systems that ensure the safe operation of the plant.
It should be noted that on June 30, Dmitry Polyansky, First Deputy Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN, said that Kiev and the West intend to accuse a nuclear provocation at the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, for this they are preparing an operation. “under a false flag”.
