Reconstruction of the Kostroma Regional Puppet Theater is being financed by the national project “Culture” on December 2, the press service of the administration of the Kostroma Region reports.
Within the framework of the national project, a major renovation of the theater building, built in 1896 as a reading room named after AN Ostrovsky, will be carried out. The last time the theater was overhauled was 50 years ago.
“The building is old, everything has to be done carefully. It is necessary to reinforce the walls with sheet piles”– said Roman Suchkov, head of the OOO Zodchiy site.
According to the director of the puppet theater Lyudmila Sharova, the reconstruction will also affect the mechanics of the stage.
“The lower mechanics were manual. It was physically difficult and it took a long time. Now it will be modern, convenient and of high quality. They will install lifting machines that will go up and down mechanically”– said Lyudmila Sharova.
Remember that the building of the Kostroma Regional Puppet Theater is a cultural monument of regional importance.
