Dutch gas producer Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij (NAM) posted billions of euros in profit in 2022, largely due to higher natural gas prices, the NL Times reported on July 10.
According to the annual report, NAM posted a net profit of 2.4 billion euros (240 billion rubles) in 2022, compared with 385 million euros (38.5 billion rubles) in 2021. The company rated this year as exceptional due to to rising gas prices.
“In 2023, gas prices have so far been significantly lower. Therefore, the expected gain this year will not be that great.”the company said.
Recall that in June, the Bloomberg news agency reported that NAM offered to transfer two gas storage facilities to the Dutch government. The company reportedly made the offer during negotiations to compensate for earthquake damage caused by natural gas production in Groningen.
