A 48-year-old Portuguese woman vacationing in Madrid, Spain, was rescued by two police officers after suffering cardiac and respiratory arrest due to synthetic drug use and alcohol consumption.
According to the newspaper Worldthe woman was revived thanks to a portable defibrillator the agents had in their patrol car.
The incident took place last Thursday, July 13, around 6:20 am. The young man, also Portuguese, ran to the police and reported the situation. He mentioned that the friend was not breathing in his apartment.
As soon as they arrived at the scene, operatives put the woman on the ground and began emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as she was unconscious, without a pulse or breathing.
After resuscitation, the Portuguese was taken to the Fundación Jiménez Díaz hospital.
The medical workers who were mobilized to the scene highly appreciated the actions of the police officers and their knowledge in the field of first aid.
