The two young people, aged 20 and 21, who died Friday night in a violent head-on collision on IC6 in São Martinho da Cortica in Arganil, were students at the Higher School of Technology and Hospital Oliveira do Hospital (ESTGOH). In the same car was another colleague, aged 21, who was seriously injured, as well as the 47-year-old driver and only passenger of another car registered in Switzerland.
Joao Vicente, 21, was from Cantañede and was attending the 2nd year of a computer engineering course. Joao Pinto, aged 20, was from Anadia and was a freshman in the same course.
The student community is in “academic mourning” for the next three days in a decision “in solidarity with all those who are experiencing this moment of sadness and pain,” the ESTGOH president said in a note.
