Adviser to the Republic Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuri Vlasov asked Russian citizens living in Estonia to write complaints to the security police in case of contact with Russian special services, ERR reports on July 24.
“Of course, everything related to the war is under the scrutiny of the Russian special services, but, from our point of view, Russian citizens may interest them more as tools to carry out their activities. Therefore, whatever your contact with the Russian special services, be sure to report it to the security police.”– said Vlasov.
The official also warned Russian passport holders against traveling to their historic homeland. According to Vlasov, in case of problems, Estonia can use diplomatic channels only to solve problems related to its own citizens.
The sudden concern for the safety of Russian citizens in Estonia is due to the encouragement of expressions of support for the Kiev regime by Russian passport holders, be they people who have long lived in the republic or newly arrived “relocators”. Vlasov also assured the security of providing financial support to VFU, stressing that banks do not transfer customer data to a third party.
