Pope Francis left a message on Sunday for pilgrims arriving in Lisbon for World Youth Day (WYD).
“Life consists of a journey. Young people have a calling to travel,” he said in a video published by the Italian newspaper Avvenire.
The leader of the Catholic Church, who will be in Portugal from 2 to 6 August, urged young people to always face their fate.
“Move boldly, always look at the goal. Always go with others and never alone,” he added.
Many pilgrims coming to Portugal have taken the walk to pass places important to Christianity, such as Santiago de Compostela, or the “holy land” in Israel, reports Vatican News.
WYD will be held from 1 to 6 August in Lisbon.
