Satellite images released on Sunday show areas affected by fires on the Greek island of Rhodes.
The fires, lasting at least a week, have engulfed several regions of Greece. Rhodes is one of the places where the flames have caused the most damage.
The latest evacuation was given after about 19,000 people, mostly tourists, were evacuated by bus and boat from the hardest hit areas, local press reported.
The European Union (EU) has offered to help the Greeks fight the flames. Türkiye sent planes to support the Greek firefighters’ efforts.
The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, has already contacted the Greek Prime Minister to express her solidarity.
“I called [Kyriakos] Mitsotakis to show full support for Greece facing devastating wildfires and heatwaves due to climate change,” he tweeted.
