Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida expressed his unwillingness to put up with North Korea’s missile tests on July 25, the NHK television channel reports.
In a meeting with the press, Kishida condemned the rocket launches that occurred the day before, during which the launched fireballs fell outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone. According to the Japanese Defense Ministry, Pyongyang launched two ballistic missiles on July 24.
The Prime Minister told the audience that Japan had not been able to find any damage caused by these launches. However, he stated that the DPRK’s actions threaten the peace and stability of Japan, the region and the international community, and therefore its actions cannot be tolerated.
Kishida also said that the missile launches violated a series of UN Security Council resolutions and that Tokyo has lodged a protest against Pyongyang. According to him, the Japanese government will try to continue monitoring the launches, and for this, his country will continue to work together with South Korea and the United States to ensure the life of the region under its own rules.
