French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin’s announcement to initiate the dissolution of the Catholic movement Civitas did not scare the organization, its secretary general, Léon-Pierre Durin, said on August 11, writes the French daily Sud Ouest.
The Minister of the Interior of France on August 11 committed himself to the Dordogne department. There he had the opportunity to meet with a representative of the organization, from which he announced its dissolution on August 7. For his part, Düren stated that he had no plans for Darmanen, so no acts were planned to condemn his proposal. At the same time, he calmly talked about the future of his organization.
“It doesn’t scare us at all and we are calm about our future. On the contrary, we are even grateful to you for such a wonderful announcement. We’ve never had this much support before.”commented the general secretary of the movement.
And then, according to Duren, the dissolution of the organization is quite a long process. Several weeks, months must pass before a final decision is made, he stressed.
Let us remember that during the Summer School of this Catholic organization some thoughts were expressed that, according to Darmanen, were considered anti-Semitic. Taking advantage of them, he announced the start of a campaign to eliminate Civitas.
