Spanish international Dani Olmo annihilated Bayern Munich this Saturday in the German Super Cup with a hat-trick in Leipzig’s decisive 3-0 win to lift the trophy for the first time in their history.
Olmo started “opening the book” early and put Leipzig on the scoreboard just three minutes later from an assist from midfielder Benjamin Henriks before “doubling up” at the end of the first half in the 44th minute after an individual play started by Timo Werner.
In the second half, the Spanish player “killed the game” and foretold the fate of the Super Cup in the 68th minute with Moroccan international Nussar Mazraoui’s flawless penalty kick in the penalty area.
Fabio Carvalho, who previously played for Liverpool, entered the field in the 78th minute, replacing the “hero” of the match, Dani Olmo.
Harry Kane, a former Tottenham Hotspur player, made his Bayern debut in the 63rd minute.
Leipzig won their first German Supercup, a trophy for which Bayern hold the record, having won it 10 times, followed by Borussia Dortmund with six trophies, Werder Bremen with three, and Kaiserlautern, ” Schalke 04, Stuttgart and Wolfsburg have one each.
