Russian tennis player Lyudmila Samsonova lost to Linda Noskova of the Czech Republic on August 16 in the first round match of the WTA-1000 hardcore tournament in Cincinnati.
The 12th racket in the world Samsonova confidently won the first set with a score of 6:2, but then failed in the next two games: 3:6, 1:6. The match lasted 1 hour and 53 minutes.
During the match, Samsonova completed five aces, made an error eight times on second serve, and won four games on the opponent’s serve (11 break points in total). On account of Noskova (50th in the WTA ranking): seven direct tackles, eight double faults and five break points out of eight won.
The WTA-1000 tournament in Cincinnati takes place on hard courts from August 14-20. The competition’s prize fund exceeds $2.7 million.
