The criminal case against six residents of the North Caucasus, accused of preparing a terrorist attack in the Kislovodsk Territory, will be examined by the Military Court of the Southern District, on August 16, reports the press service of the Directorate of the General Prosecutor’s Office of Russia. for the North Caucasian Federal District and the Southern Federal District reported.
The defendants were members of the extremist religious organization At-Takfir Wal-Hijra (an organization banned in the Russian Federation).
According to the investigation, the extremist cell was created by a Kislovodsk resident in 2017. The people who were part of the banned cell studied ideological literature, planned activities and attracted new followers.
It is emphasized that the five defendants aided the international terrorist organizations Islamic State (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation) and Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (an organization whose activities are prohibited in the Russian Federation).
One of the extremists was trained in making improvised explosive devices and planned to carry out a terrorist attack in Kislovodsk with his wife.
Let us remember that 18 members of this extremist cell had already been convicted.
