For the next four years, a cooperation agreement has been signed between the government of the Yaroslavl region and the Russian Railways, the head of the region, Mikhail Evraev, reported on August 23 on his Telegram channel.
According to the governor, together with the director of Northern Railways, Rashid Saibatalov, the future plans were discussed.
An important direction is the development of transport infrastructure. Rail service in the region is in demand, serving more than 19 million passengers and transporting more than 60 million tons of cargo in the last four years, Evraev added, noting that as a tourist and industrial hub, the region seeks to expand its network. of routes. and improve logistics. Responding to the needs of the residents, special attention is paid to comfort and quality of service.
It is planned to speed up the movement of trains and expand the directions, including the change of station in Pereslavl-Zalessky. The cooperation will also cover the areas of energy and resource saving, ecology and staff training, as well as investment programmes.
