A two-year-old boy was bitten by a predatory Red Book marten in the Taigan park in Crimea, the owner of the safari park, Oleg Zubkov, spoke about this incident on August 25, Forpost reports.
Due to a serious violation of safety regulations by the child’s parents, the child suffered a finger injury.
“The boy was bitten by a kharza (Ussuri marten – approx. AI Red Spring). The father jumped over the control fence, took the two-year-old baby in his arms, gave him food in his hand and forced him to feed the harza, a predatory animal from the Red Book. As a result, Kharza bit off the boy’s finger.– said Oleg Zubkov.
As a result, the boy was hospitalized with an open fracture of the nail.
According to unconfirmed reports from the publication, the parents have pleaded guilty and have not filed any complaints against the zoo management.
Let’s remember that this is not the first case of attack by predatory animals in the Taigan Park. In July 2022, a criminal case was opened against the director of the park, Oleg Zubkov, due to an incident that occurred in the park. The woman took her one-year-old baby to the cage with the lion, the beast bit the child in her hand. As a result, the boy had to have a finger amputated.
Zubkov was found guilty of providing services that did not meet security requirements and sentenced to two years and three months in prison and a fine of more than 850,000 rubles. He spent two months in the Simferopol remand center. However, the Supreme Court of Crimea overturned the guilty verdict.
