Until 11:25 this Saturday, train traffic was restored on the 25 April bridge between Lisbon and Almada, as well as car traffic, albeit with recorded violations, Fertagus and PSP said.
On its website, the company in charge of rail transport on the April 25 Bridge said that train service was restored with some delays around 11:25 a.m. after it was interrupted in the morning due to an “incident”.
A PSP source told Lusa at 11:30 a.m. that the bridge was also fully open to traffic, albeit intermittently due to the heavy volume of traffic that had accumulated in the morning after conditions were registered.
Fonte da Lusoponte reported to Luza at 10:40 a.m. that there were large queues at the entrances and on the deck of the 25 April Bridge in a north–south direction at this time, as traffic was restricted to one lane.
In the South-North direction, traffic was also difficult, although all roads were passable, the company that manages the bridge added.
Train traffic was interrupted between Pragal, Almada and Roma Areiro, Lisbon from 06:20, but traffic between Setúbal and Pragal stations continued as normal.
Fertagus has a concession for commuter rail passenger services between the south bank of the Tagus and Lisbon.
