This morning, a head-on collision between two cars on the IP5 highway in Viseu killed one person and seriously injured another. The accident occurred in the Pascual district, and the warning was received by the authorities at 8:20 am. The accident occurred at the 89th kilometer in the direction of Viseu-Aveiro.
A 31-year-old man was killed, and a 45-year-old man was also seriously injured. He was taken to the Viseu hospital.
A vehicle moving in the direction of Aveiro-Viseu collided with another vehicle moving in the opposite direction.
According to GNR Viseu, traffic in the direction of Viseu-Aveiro has been suspended and air-conditioned in the direction of Aveiro-Viseu.
The fatal victim was locked inside the vehicle.
18 firefighters, INEM and GNR, as well as 8 vehicles were involved in the rescue work.
