The Angolan municipality of Catchiungo, Huambo province, recorded this Thursday an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 on the Richter scale, “moderate class, without prejudice to health,” the National Institute of Meteorology and Geophysics (Inamet) of Angola said.
According to Inamet, the earthquake was recorded at 9:27 am (local time) this Thursday, and the epicenter was found in the south and southeast of the municipality of Catchiungo in southern Angola, the maximum intensity V was felt in the city of Huambo.
According to reports, “the earthquake has not yet caused any personal injury,” Inamet said in a statement.
Angolan Public Radio reported that some municipalities in the Angolan province of Bie, located in the south-central region of the country, also registered earthquakes this Thursday.
