On the night of this Sunday, a fire broke out at the event farm in Pedrusus in Maya. According to the firefighters of San Mamede de Infesta, the fire started after fireworks were set off during an event held at the farm.
The flames spread to nearby houses, and one house was completely destroyed. A married couple and a child aged about one year were displaced. Two other houses were damaged but still habitable.
According to the head of the fire department, Pedrusus, two firefighters and two civilians were slightly injured during the extinguishing of the fire. Firefighters were taken to the São João hospital in Porto. Civilians refused hospitalization.
The alarm was raised at 10:29 pm and by 11:27 pm the fire was brought under control and entered the cleanup phase around midnight.
61 firefighters attended from Pedrusos, Sant Mamede de Infesta, Lesa do Baliu, Moreira da Maya, Areos and Matosinhos Lis, supported by 20 vehicles, including an ambulance and resuscitation vehicle and two ambulances .
TO cmResidents say they have already warned the farm owners of the fire hazard, as fireworks are often set off at the location.
