Panama international Gilberto Hernandez was shot dead this Sunday in Colón, a city with one of the country’s highest murder rates.
According to Ole, citing police sources, two people got out of the car and opened fire in the direction of a group in the area, which included 26-year-old Hernandez. The player was taken to the hospital by ambulance, but did not survive from his injuries.
It should be noted that Gilberto Hernandez played a friendly match against Argentina for his choice in March of this year. Then the central defender was photographed with Lionel Messi and Di Maria.
CAI Panama, the team that Hernandez represented, has already lamented the incident on social media: “Atletico Independiente Panama is mourning the death of our player.
