The Bundestag began discussing the draft budget of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) on September 5, reports the press service of the German Parliament.
It is planned to slightly reduce spending on civil society and on social and economic activities: from 1.36 billion euros (140 billion rubles) this year to 1.34 billion euros (140 billion rubles). Political fund projects important for development will continue to be financed with 340 million euros (35.5 billion rubles).
On the other hand, German private organizations will receive 233.5 million euros (24.5 billion rubles) for their projects this year instead of 177.5 million euros (18.5 billion rubles). 174 million euros (18 billion rubles) will be allocated instead of 189 million euros (19.5 billion rubles) to collaboration for the development of economic ties.
More funds will go towards developing civic engagement and activity in local communities. For these purposes, 425.5 million euros (44.5 billion rubles) will be allocated.
2.32 billion euros (240 billion rubles) should be spent on multilateral development cooperation. Contributions to the United Nations, its specialized agencies and other international institutions and non-governmental organizations in the project amount to 582.01 million euros (61 billion rubles).
The contribution to the EU’s European Development Funds is reduced from 432.18 million euros (45 billion rubles) to 329.28 million euros (34.5 billion rubles). The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, like the previous year, will receive 415 million euros (43.5 billion rubles).
