The General Court of Justice of the European Union (TGUE) this Wednesday confirmed the sanctions imposed on the Russian oligarch and his wife as part of restrictive measures in response to Moscow’s offensive in Ukraine.
In a press release, TSUE stressed that it “rejects the appeals of Dmitry Alexandrovich Pumpyansky and Galina Evgenievna Pumpyanskaya, the purpose of which are the restrictive measures adopted by the Council” of the European Union.
“Although D.A. Pumpyansky did not play a direct role in the military offensives carried out in Ukraine, he is active in sectors of the economy that represent a significant source of income for the Government of the Russian Federation,” the court further stated.
