A car crashed and overturned, killing a woman and seriously injuring a man, on the municipal road connecting San Pedro de Rio Seco with Castelo Bom in the municipality of Almeida.
The alarm was filed at 5:00 am this Thursday, September 7, but the accident could have happened hours before. The firefighter who carried out the usual transportation of the patient, whose meeting was scheduled in Lisbon, warned.
When the Almeida Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene, they found two victims inside a car that had been immobilized on the road. “The woman went into cardiac arrest and was later confirmed dead by a VMER doctor. The man had very serious injuries. He was taken to the hospital in Guarda and from there he was evacuated by helicopter to the hospital in Coimbra,” commander Correio da explained. The criminal center for the investigation of accidents at the entrance of the GNR da Guarda is investigating the causes of the accident.
