Portugal has informed Moroccan civil protection authorities of “full readiness” to mobilize a search and rescue team, similar to what it did during the earthquake in Turkey, the interior minister said this Saturday.
“We have already informed the Moroccan civil protection authorities through the Portuguese Embassy in Morocco of our full readiness to mobilize a search and rescue team. […] equivalent to the one we mobilized for Turkey, that is, with search and rescue capabilities, with a medical team, with a couple of dogs and with corpse identification teams,” said Minister José Luis Carneiro.
Speaking to Lusa, the interior minister said Morocco had not yet asked for this support, but Portugal was “complete”.
