Turkey expressed Morocco’s condolences to the earthquake victims and offered all possible support to the Moroccan “brotherly people”.
“I convey my wishes for recovery to all the Moroccan people affected by the catastrophic earthquake in Morocco, a friendly and brotherly country,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan wrote on social networks.
João Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola, also expressed his “condolences and solidarity” to the King of Morocco over the earthquake.
“On behalf of the Angolan leadership and myself, in the face of this catastrophic event, I express to Your Majesty and the affected families our condolences and solidarity at this painful moment for the Moroccan people. Please accept, Your Majesty, my condolences for this fatal event,” the Angolan President said in a message published on the Angolan President’s Facebook page.
The football world also unites in solidarity
This Saturday, Benfica showed solidarity with the victims of the earthquake that occurred in Morocco by providing assistance to the “embodied” foundation.

“The FPF deeply regrets and expresses its deepest condolences to Morocco and everyone affected by today’s terrible earthquake,” the federation said in a statement.
The federation also announced that games played before Monday, including the Portuguese Cup matches, will be preceded by a minute’s silence in solidarity with the earthquake victims.
