Azerbaijan’s armed forces fired on Armenian positions in the Gegharkunik region of Armenia, Armenia’s Defense Ministry said in a statement posted Sept. 10 on the department’s website.
“On September 9, at around 22:50, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces opened fire with small arms on Armenian positions located in the Kutakan sector (Gegharkunik region)”says the message.
Furthermore, the Armenian defense department stated that the statement of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Defense regarding the shelling of its positions from the Armenian side in the southeastern part of the Armenia-Azerbaijan border does not correspond to reality.
“The message spread by the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan that units of the RA Armed Forces on September 9 at around 23:40 allegedly opened fire in the direction of Azerbaijani positions located in the southeastern part of the border is another disinformation. .”said the Armenian Defense Ministry.
