Benfica, Porto, Sporting Braga and Sporting met this Monday with the groups of the 2023/24 Football League Cup at the headquarters of the Portuguese Professional Football League (LPFP) in Porto.
Benfica drew in Group B with Arouca and ABC. Porto are in Group D and will face Estoril Praia and Leixoes. The Lions remain in Group C with Farense and Tondela. Braga will face Casa Pia and Nacional in Group A.
The winners of each group will meet each other in the final four, again scheduled in Leiria, with the semi-finals on January 23 and 24 and the final on January 27.
Benfica holds the record for most wins in the tournament with seven, three more than Sporting, in a history that also includes Sporting Braga with two titles, Moreirense, Vitoria de Setubal and Porto ” – one by one.
