This Monday, Portugal achieved their biggest win in their history, beating Luxembourg 9-0 in Faro in the sixth round of Group J of the 2024 European Championship qualifying, now four points behind.
Portugal’s goals were scored by Gonzalo Inacio (12 and 45+4 minutes), Gonzalo Ramos (18 and 34), Diogo Jota (57 and 77), Ricardo Horta (67), Bruno Fernandes (83) and Joao Felix (88). which added three 8-0s, two against Liechtenstein and one against Kuwait.
In the group in which the first two fall, Portugal have 18 points to 13 for Slovakia (3-0 to Liechtenstein) and 10 for Luxembourg, and will be able to secure qualification in October with games against Slovakia (13th place) and Bosnia -Herzegovina (16).
