This Thursday, Ukraine announced the destruction of a €1.1 billion Russian air defense system in Crimea on the second day of consecutive attacks on the Russian-annexed peninsula, military sources in Kyiv said.
“Military counterintelligence of the SBU [Serviço de Segurança da Ucrânia] and the Ukrainian Navy conducted a unique special operation near Yevpatoria. They destroyed the Russian Triumph air defense system worth $1.2 billion. [1,1 mil milhões de euros]”- said sources in the SBU, quoted by the Ukrinform agency.
Ukrainian “drones” first destroyed the “eyes” of the system, that is, radars and antennas that warn of the approach of a possible enemy target, according to the description of the Ukrayinska Pravda newspaper, which also cites sources in the SBU.
