Paulinho, Gyokeres and Pedro Gonçalves have scored all of Sporting’s goals this season. Ruben Amorim wants to maintain the attacking productivity of the trio and must focus on the title game against Moreirense (Sunday, 20:30).
Even though the Europa League games start a few days after the clash with Minho’s team, the Leonin coach should not make any major changes to the usual starting line-up. Getting into a routine quickly has been Amorim’s goal for the new season, and so changes only occur when there are physical obstacles.
Of the seven goals scored so far: Paulinho has scored four, Gyokeres has scored two and Pedro Goncalves has scored one. The Swede’s absence in recent days due to national team work may have partially undermined the good understanding demonstrated in these four league games.
However, Amorim believes that the work already done is enough to maintain the productive streak of the attacking front of one of the championship leaders.
