Belarusian tennis player Alexandra Sasnovich confidently defeated the Dutch Arancha Rus on September 17 in the first round match of the tough WTA-1000 tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico.
World number 102 Sasnovich broke the resistance of Russia (47th place in the WTA ranking) in 1 hour and 34 minutes: 6:1, 7:6 (7:5).
During the match, Sasnovich made one ace, made four errors on the second serve, and won five games on his opponent’s serve (five break points in total). Rus has three hits served, five double faults and two break points converted out of five achieved.
Sasnovich will compete with world number 10 Caroline Garcia of France to reach the third round of the tournament.
The Guadalajara WTA-1000 tournament takes place on hard courts from September 17 to 23. The prize fund of the contest exceeds $2.7 million.
