Sporting, with second-half goals from Hjulmand, Gyokeres and Diomande, beat Moreirense 3-0 at home this Sunday in the fifth round of the I Football League, allowing the Lions to take the lead in the competition.
After being scoreless at half-time, Sporting, who had drawn the last matchday 1-1 at Sporting de Braga, were determined to decide the game early in the second half, and six minutes later the reinforcements of Julmand (55) and Győkeres ( 61) ended Moreirense’s resistance with just one win in this edition of the League, while Diomande closed the scoring with 90+6.
The win leaves Sporting top of the competition with 13 points, the same as Porto but with a greater goal difference, while Moreirense sits in 16th place with four points in the danger zone of the table.
