Traffic has been restored on the Cascais line with a stop at the Alges station.

The Alges station in the municipality of Oeiras, Lisbon district, is reopening for trains on the Cascais line after being closed due to bad weather, Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP) said on Wednesday.

In a note posted on the social network Facebook in an update at 20:00, IP said that “train traffic has been restored and trains stop at the Alges station” on the Cascais line.

On this Wednesday afternoon, the Oeiras council informed Luza that it expected to complete the Alges station cleanup by the end of the day.

The vice-president of the municipality, Francisco Gonçalves, said that the work to remove water from the tunnel at the Alges railway station is almost complete and that the opening is dependent on the intervention of IP and CP.

In the last report on traffic restrictions on the road network, made at 18:00, IP noted the opening of traffic on the national road (EN) 8 between Odivelas and Loures, as well as EN250 in the Frielas area. the last two roads reopened to traffic after traffic on the EN248 was restored in the afternoon at Arruda dos Viños, between kilometers 15 and 17.

There are still cuts in the Lisbon area at Estrada Nacional (EN) 9, between Ponte Rol and Torres Vedras; on EN250, between Katuhal and Sakavem; on EN115, in Rotunda das Oliveiras and Lebres, and on EN115-2, between Maxial and Ermejeira.

According to the company, there are still new checkpoints in the municipality of Coruch, in the Santarem region, namely on the EN119 highway, between Biscainho and Quinta Grande. In this area, the EN114 in Corus continues to be affected, with a closure to Estrada de Meillas and a connection between EN114 and EN251 in Azervadinha. The EN119 road is closed between kilometers 43 and 55, while the EN118 road intersects in both directions between Tramagal and Santa Margarida. The EN365 motorway runs between Vale Figueira and Pombaline.

In the Portalegre area there are also new entrances to the EN243 between Monforte and Barbacena and to the EN246-1 in Alameda dos Fresos, which connects Marvão with Castelo de Vide.

The area still has restrictions on Main Route (IP) 2 at Monfort as well as on EN3 at Montargil Dam; on EN243, in Fronteira and on the Fronteira bridge; to EN244, to Avis; on EN246, in Arronches and on EN373, closed towards Campo Mayor Elvas, and still in Elvas, on EN246.

In the Évora area, where the EN2 motorways in Mora and EN251 between Cousú and Mora were conditioned, there are now cuts between Monte da Barca and Mora.

The yellow rain warning for the mainland issued by the Portuguese Sea and Atmospheric Institute ended at 21:00 on Wednesday, and no similar warnings are expected later, including on Thursday.

Intense and relentless rain on Tuesday caused more than 3,000 incidents, including floods, tree falls and cut roads, affecting mainly the areas of Lisbon, Setubal, Portalegre and Santarem.

A total of 83 people were displaced, according to the National Emergency Management and Civil Protection Administration (ANEPC), and bad weather also led to the closure and conditioning of roads and railroad tracks, which have been restored.

In the Lisbon area, bad weather led to traffic restrictions at the entrance to the city, and in most cases this situation has been corrected. According to the city council, in Campo Maiore, in the Portalegre district, the lower part of the village was flooded, several houses were flooded with water up to the roofs.
