The first meeting of heads of transport ministries in the “China-Central Asia” format was held in Beijing within the framework of the World Forum on Sustainable Transport, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reported on September 25.
“Issues relating to the development of transport and communication cooperation between China and Central Asian states, the creation of short and convenient transport corridors and the increase of transit traffic were discussed at the meeting.”– reports the press service.

It is clarified that the objective of the meeting is to stimulate cooperation between China and Central Asian countries in the field of logistics and transportation.
It is reported that at a meeting within the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative, the parties signed a memorandum of understanding. No further details of the negotiations have been reported.
