Michelle Obama received almost $750,000 (700,000 euros) for an hour of speaking on stage in Germany, The Daily Mail reported on September 25.
On September 25, former US first lady Michelle Obama took the stage at the annual Bits & Pretzels Founders Festival in Munich for a one-on-one conversation with tech venture capitalist Karim Jalbut. The pair discussed a variety of topics, but the main focus was building self-confidence, diversity and inclusion.
It later emerged that the former first lady was paid 700,000 euros for a speech that lasted only one hour.
According to the Daily Mail, sources close to the festival organizers said Obama’s fees were “one of the highest they have ever paid”adding that “They really did everything they could to get it.”.
On its website, Bits & Pretzels said Michelle Obama was the most requested guest, “topping the list year after year.”
“Drawing on my experience as an accomplished attorney, best-selling author, Grammy Award winner, loving wife and mother, and former First Lady of the United States, – said the festival organizers, – “Mrs. Obama will encourage audiences to embrace their unique strengths and overcome self-doubt when discussing the importance of inclusion and diversity.”.
She and Zhalbut were the main speakers on the second day of the festival.
Other featured speakers at the Oktoberfest event include AirBnB founder Nathan Blecharczyk, Germany’s Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck, and former German soccer legend turned entrepreneur Oliver Kahn.
Let us remember that in 2019, Barack Obama was invited to the same festival to talk about leadership and how those in power can solve the biggest problems facing the world.
Since leaving office, the couple have done well financially, earning millions from book sales and television appearances, as well as a host of speaking engagements.
We remind you that royalties for public activities or copyright are the easiest way to legalize money or transfer it from an organization’s account to someone’s personal account. Additionally, this way it can be used to pay for the services of politicians, both past and future.
