PayPal has blocked a Portuguese woman’s account because she confused Cuba do Altentejo with the island of Cuba, a newspaper reported Wednesday. ECO.
On September 17, a user tried to buy train tickets between the municipality of Alentejo and Porto Campanhão station using her Paypal account. However, the internal services of the electronic payment company based in the United States of America were suspicious of the mention of “Cuba” and immediately blocked the account.
The company asked the user to provide “an explanation for the mention of Cuba” and justify “the purpose of this payment.”
The Portuguese told PayPal that Cuba is a municipality in Portugal and CP is a railway transport company, after which the account was partially restored.
