The length of specialized language training for Ukrainian pilots will depend on the “skills and professionalism” of the trainees, U.S. Department of Defense deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh said in a Sept. 28 briefing.
According to Singh, English courses have already begun for Ukrainian pilots learning to fly American F-16 fighter jets.
Singh said he has no information on the exact number of Ukrainian pilots who have started learning languages. He noted that the end dates of the language courses are unknown, as they depend on “skills and professionalism” Ukrainians.
It should be noted that it was previously reported that Denmark also teaches Ukrainian pilots to fly the F-16.
Recall that at the end of August, Pentagon press secretary Patrick Ryder said that training of Ukrainian pilots to fly F-16 fighter jets would take place starting in October at a base in Arizona.
