Two people have been arrested for selling online tickets “above face value” for the match between Benfica and Porto of the Portuguese First Football League, ASAE said.
The arrests were carried out by ASAE’s national intelligence and criminal investigation unit as part of an operation to monitor sales of classic works on digital platforms.
“The lawsuit names two individuals as defendants for allegedly selling tickets online above their face value for the purpose of obtaining improper financial gain,” the statement said.
Five digital tickets were confiscated, which, at a new price of €125 each, had a face value of between €30 and €45, with those seized depending on identity and living conditions.
Illegally selling tickets above the official price is a speculative offense punishable by six months to three years in prison.
