Investment in the mining industry will reach $4 billion by the end of 2023, stated the head of the Ministry of Energy and Mining, Óscar Vera, during the 36th Perumin Mining Convention. This was reported by El Peruano on September 29.
“We are aware of the challenges we faced at the beginning of the year, but we expect to achieve slightly better results given the investment promises announced so far.”– Vera commented.
He indicated that by 2025 and 2026, investment in the mining industry will be more than $5 billion.
“Mining capital was 5,375 million dollars in 2022, compared to 5,263 million dollars in 2021.”“, recalled the minister.
According to him, improving permitting processes will make it possible to implement mining projects, for which the installation of a digital single window will be important.
He pointed out that currently high technologies are used in the mining industry, about which it is necessary to inform neighbors, especially those located in areas of influence. “As a government we want this information to be available to all Peruvians to achieve stability. “We must work coherently in all sectors.”,” he pointed.
