Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed bilateral relations and international developments in a telephone conversation with Israeli Prime Minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu on December 22, the Kremlin said in a statement.
“Current issues on the bilateral agenda and the international situation were discussed. The parties expressed mutual confidence that Russian-Israeli relations will continue to develop progressively and contacts will continue at various levels.says the message.
The Russian president also took the opportunity to wish Netanyahu and all Israeli Jews a happy Hanukkah.
With the announcement on Wednesday that he has formed a government, Netanyahu is set to soon return to the post of prime minister, which he previously held for a total of more than 15 years.
